Natalia
Chernogolova

Natalia Chernogolova was born in Belarus in 1954, and is one of Russia's most outstanding, contemporary female artists. Her work displays a strong Russian/Eastern European element, and there is a strong link with Oskar Kokoschka and Mark Chagall, as well as flavours of Vlaminck and Rouault. She studied at the Arts Faculty of Vitebsk University, home town of Mark Chagall, from where she graduated in 1982.

As a Russian artist, she began as a social realist and, in 1989, she was elected to the USSR Union of Artists. Her paintings and drawings can now be found in Public and Private Collections in Belarus, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the UK, North America, Australia and Israel
